Rebecca’s growing Futuria Fuels team focuses on scouting for new supply of bio-based and renewable fuels; researching novel, sustainable feedstock & conversion technologies; exploring new product options, managing a portfolio of sustainable fuel investments & assets and global stakeholder management. Additionally, Rebecca is Senior Vice President Renewable Energy of the International DME Association and sits on the board of two JVs – Dimeta and Circular Fuels Limited. Dimeta is a joint-venture between SHV Energy and UGI International set up to advance the production and use of renewable and recycled carbon Dimethyl Ether (“rDME”), a low-carbon sustainable liquid gas, to accelerate de-fossilization of the LPG industry. Dimeta promotes the use of rDME by driving efforts geared at broad market acceptance, developing new rDME based technologies to gain traction among users, and supporting the development of infrastructure, regulations and standards for the safe use of rDME in the off-grid energy sector.

Circular Fuels Limited is a joint-venture between Dimeta and KEW Technologies, aiming to fast-track innovative Advanced Conversion Technology for renewable and low-carbon DME (rDME) production. The first dedicated rDME plant will be built in the UK in 2023, producing 50ktonnes/year of low-carbon fuel for the LPG sector. This multimillion GBP investment will dramatically accelerate the ability of the LPG industry to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. From a first commercial plant in the UK, Circular Fuels Limited already has plans to develop subsequent plants across Europe and North America in the mid 2020’s.

Prior to joining SHV Energy, Rebecca worked as Subsea Marketing Director for GE Oil & Gas and ran Business Development at the Biomass & Energy Efficiency unit of the Netherlands renewable energy lab, ECN part of TNO. Born in London to a Norwegian mum and British Dad, Rebecca has a self confessed ‘wanderlust’ having lived and worked in many countries around the world.  She holds British and Dutch nationalities. She also sits on the board of a charity – a choir for people with special needs.
