Global energy markets are on the cusp of an unprecedented transformation that will lead to a cleaner future. Hydrogen is expected to play an important role. One key question that demands further investigation is the cost-effective transportation of hydrogen from the low-cost producing areas to the global demand centres. The focus of this paper will be to present the case for ammonia as a hydrogen transportation solution, compare with alternative options and provide an understanding of the global ammonia market.
